Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team at UCHealth.   1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of biomedical equipment, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and life support systems.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, utilizing technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
  3. Develop and maintain an inventory of spare parts and equipment to ensure timely repairs and replacements.
  4. Conduct safety tests and inspections on equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to identify equipment needs and provide technical support.
  6. Train and educate staff on the proper use and maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
  7. Keep detailed records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on equipment.
  8. Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in the field of biomedical equipment, and make recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements.
  9. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working with equipment and handling hazardous materials.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Biomedical Engineering Is Essential For A Biomedical Equipment Technician At Uchealth. This Degree Provides The Necessary Technical Knowledge And Skills To Understand And Maintain Complex Medical Equipment.

  • Certification As A Biomedical Equipment Technician (Cbet): Uchealth Requires All Biomedical Equipment Technicians To Hold A Cbet Certification. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Expertise In The Field Of Biomedical Technology.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working With Medical Equipment In A Hospital Or Healthcare Environment Is Preferred. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Specific Needs And Requirements Of Medical Equipment In A Clinical Setting.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: Biomedical Equipment Technicians At Uchealth Must Be Able To Quickly Identify And Resolve Equipment Malfunctions To Ensure Patient Safety And Optimal Functionality. Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills Are Crucial For This Role.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Abilities: As Part Of A Larger Healthcare Team, Biomedical Equipment Technicians At Uchealth Must Have Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals.
