- Ensure compliance with global tax laws and regulations for customer tax operations.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and data for tax reporting.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax filings, including sales and use tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes.
- Review and reconcile tax accounts, including tax accruals and payments.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning and compliance efforts.
- Identify and resolve tax issues and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.
- Communicate with tax authorities and respond to tax notices and inquiries.
- Train and educate team members on tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on tax compliance and risks to senior management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external tax advisors and consultants.
- Continuously improve tax processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices related to tax operations and reporting.
Strong Knowledge Of Tax Laws And Regulations: A Tax Manager At Uber Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of Federal, State, And Local Tax Laws And Regulations Related To Customer Tax Operations And Reporting. This Includes Knowledge Of Sales Tax, Income Tax, And International Tax Laws.
Experience In Tax Operations And Reporting: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have Prior Experience In Tax Operations And Reporting, Preferably In A Similar Industry Or With A Multinational Company. They Should Be Familiar With Tax Compliance Requirements And Have Experience In Managing Tax Audits And Inquiries.
Analytical Skills: As A Tax Manager For Customer Tax Operations And Reporting At Uber, Strong Analytical Skills Are Essential. The Candidate Should Be Able To Analyze Large Data Sets, Identify Trends, And Make Data-Driven Decisions To Ensure Compliance With Tax Laws And Regulations.
