Job Description

As the Staff Security Incident Commander, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the response to security incidents, ensuring the safety and security of our employees and customers, and mitigating potential risks. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in incident response, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.   1. Lead and coordinate the response to security incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Ensure the safety and security of Uber employees and customers during security incidents.
  3. Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures.
  4. Identify and mitigate potential risks and threats to Uber's security.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively respond to security incidents.
  6. Make critical decisions and provide guidance during high-pressure situations.
  7. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including senior leadership, to provide updates and recommendations during security incidents.
  8. Conduct post-incident analysis and provide recommendations for improving incident response processes.
  9. Stay updated on the latest security threats and trends and make recommendations for proactive measures to prevent future incidents.
  10. Train and educate employees on security protocols and procedures to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  11. Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability within the organization.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information related to security incidents.
  13. Work closely with external partners, law enforcement, and government agencies as needed.
  14. Represent Uber in a professional and competent manner during security incident response activities.
  15. Continuously assess and improve the incident response process to ensure it meets industry standards and best practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Security Incident Response: The Ideal Candidate For A Staff Security Incident Commander At Uber Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Security Incident Response, Preferably In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment Like A Technology Company.

  • Strong Understanding Of Cybersecurity: The Candidate Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Cybersecurity Principles And Best Practices. They Should Be Familiar With Current And Emerging Threats, As Well As Mitigation Techniques.

  • Crisis Management Skills: The Staff Security Incident Commander Should Have Proven Experience In Crisis Management And The Ability To Make Quick And Effective Decisions In High-Pressure Situations. They Should Also Be Able To Lead And Coordinate A Team During An Incident.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Effective Communication And Collaboration With Various Stakeholders, Including Technical Teams, Legal And Compliance Teams, And Senior Leadership. The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills And Be Able To Build Strong Relationships With Team Members And External Partners.

  • Knowledge Of Incident Management Tools: The Candidate Should Be Familiar With Incident Management Tools, Such As Siem, Threat Intelligence Platforms, And Other Security Monitoring And Detection Tools. They Should Also Have A Good Understanding Of Forensic Tools And Techniques For Incident Investigation And Response.
