Job Description

Extend and optimize large-scale services using NoSQL technologies to achieve greater reliability, higher throughput, and lower latencies. Implement solutions to challenging problems around cross-data-center consistency and availability, latency, caching, indexing, throughput, proxies, asynchronous processing with message queues, and storage garbage collection. Maintain high QPS services that serve data for Uber mapping services. Collaborate with other maps teams to build highly scalable, asynchronous workflows that deal with billions of map features. Implement Spark and related pipelines for ingest of large scale map data. Optimize Big Data pipelines to be more efficient, performant, and reliable.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience with any of the following: scalable, distributed systems and services; distributed SQL/NoSQL data stores like MySQL, HBase, Cassandra

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to influence others within your team and outside your team.

  • Experience or passion for working on systems related to maps.
