The U.S. Department of Transportation is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Supervisory Aviation Safety Specialist to oversee the development and implementation of safety policies and programs for the aviation industry. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective safety policies and programs for the aviation industry.
  2. Monitor and enforce compliance with aviation safety regulations and standards.
  3. Lead and manage a team of aviation safety specialists.
  4. Analyze aviation safety data and reports to identify potential safety issues.
  5. Collaborate with other aviation stakeholders to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
  6. Communicate safety standards to internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Research, develop, and implement new safety protocols and best practices.
  8. Prepare and present safety training sessions and workshops.
  9. Monitor and evaluate safety performance of aviation personnel.
  10. Investigate aviation accidents and incidents.

Job Qualifications
  • Or Related Field

  • Bachelor's Degree Or Higher In Aviation

  • Five Years Of Relevant Experience In Aviation Safety

  • Knowledge Of Federal Aviation Administration (Faa) Safety Regulations And Guidelines

  • Demonstrated Experience In Aviation Program Management And/Or Operations

  • Ability To Communicate Effectively In Both Verbal And Written Forms

  • Ability To Evaluate Operations And Make Recommendations For Improvement
