
Aviation Safety Technician
The U.S. Department of Transportation is looking for an experienced and reliable Aviation Safety Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring aviation safety by conducting inspections, monitoring compliance, and providing technical guidance. We seek an individual with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to keeping the public safe.To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in aviation safety, aviation science, or a related field, as well as 5 years of experience in an aviation safety role. You must also possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to various locations for work. Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of aviation facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations.
- Monitor aviation safety regulations to ensure that all facilities and equipment remain compliant.
- Provide technical guidance and advice to aviation safety personnel.
- Respond to aviation safety incidents to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Develop and implement aviation safety policies and procedures.
- Train personnel on aviation safety regulations and best practices.
- Research and analyze aviation safety data to identify trends and potential safety issues.
- Maintain records of aviation safety inspections and compliance.
- Investigate and report on aviation safety incidents.
- Prepare and submit aviation safety reports.
- Participate in aviation safety committees and meetings.
- Travel to various locations for work, as needed.
