
Mathematical Statistician
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mathematical Statistician to join the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The ideal candidate is a results driven professional with a passion for mathematical statistics and strong analytical skills.To be successful in this role, you must have a master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field, and at least five years of experience in mathematical statistics. You should also have strong knowledge of probability theory, statistical inference, and regression analysis.We are looking for someone who is organized, has excellent communication skills, and is able to think critically and solve complex problems. Responsibilities:
- Apply mathematical statistics to analyze data and draw conclusions
- Develop and implement models for statistical analysis
- Prepare and present reports based on statistical data
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis and probability theory
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure accuracy of data
- Monitor trends and develop predictive models
- Develop and maintain statistical databases
- Identify and document technical issues related to mathematical statistics
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members
- Stay up to date with emerging statistical technologies and trends
