Job Description

At the U.S. Department of the Treasury, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Individual Taxpayer Advisory Specialist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide expert guidance and support to taxpayers, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong understanding of tax laws and excellent communication skills to effectively assist taxpayers with their inquiries and concerns.   1. Provide expert guidance and support to taxpayers on tax laws and regulations.
  2. Assist taxpayers in understanding and fulfilling their tax responsibilities.
  3. Respond to taxpayer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations and communicate them to taxpayers.
  5. Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in tax filings.
  6. Conduct thorough research and analysis to accurately address taxpayer inquiries.
  7. Maintain accurate records of taxpayer interactions and resolutions.
  8. Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient and effective taxpayer services.
  9. Attend training and professional development sessions to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling taxpayer information.
  11. Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance taxpayer services.
  12. Represent the U.S. Department of the Treasury in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  13. Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies in carrying out job responsibilities.
  14. Complete any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Individual Tax Preparation Or Tax Advisory Services

  • Knowledge Of Tax Laws And Regulations, Specifically Related To Individual Taxpayers

  • Strong Analytical Skills And Attention To Detail

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Tax Information To Clients.
