Job Description

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is seeking an experienced and motivated Government Information Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our organization, helping to ensure the safe and efficient management of government information. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, be highly detail-oriented, and possess working knowledge of information management laws, regulations, and guidelines. Our Government Information Specialist must be a self-starter and be able to work independently to achieve results. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and safe management of government information.
  2. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to the management of government information, such as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
  3. Analyze existing information management systems and processes, and suggest improvements to increase efficiency.
  4. Design and create reports, presentations, and other materials to support the organization’s information management efforts.
  5. Assist in the maintenance and updating of records, databases, and other information management systems.
  6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  7. Provide training and support to staff on information management policies and procedures.
  8. Monitor the performance of information management initiatives and suggest any necessary changes.
  9. Respond to inquiries and provide guidance regarding information management policies and procedures.
  10. Maintain a thorough knowledge of current government information management best practices and trends.
