Job Description

The U.S. Department of Labor is looking for an experienced and mission-driven Supervisory Workforce Development Specialist to advance the Department’s commitment to providing high-quality training and development opportunities. This position will be responsible for overseeing a staff of specialists who are engaged in the delivery of training and development programs. We are looking for an individual who is an excellent communicator, a proven leader, and has a passion for helping our workforce develop and reach their full potential.The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications: advanced degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field; five years of experience in workforce development and training; and demonstrated experience in managing staff and leading organizational change initiatives. Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee a staff of specialists engaged in the delivery of training and development programs.
  2. Lead organizational change initiatives to ensure high-quality training and development opportunities.
  3. Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify gaps in workforce development and training.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to improve training and development programs.
  5. Monitor and evaluate training and development programs to ensure effectiveness.
  6. Foster effective communication and interpersonal relationships with staff and other stakeholders.
  7. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate project progress.
  9. Manage budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
  10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
