
Mine Safety and Health Specialist
The U.S. Department of Labor is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Mine Safety and Health Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s (MSHA) compliance and enforcement operations. We are looking for a passionate individual who has a commitment to promoting safety and health in mining operations. The successful candidate should have the knowledge and experience to make sound decisions related to mine safety and health and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee MSHA’s compliance and enforcement operations.
- Make sound decisions related to mine safety and health.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Monitor mining operations for compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
- Investigate and evaluate health and safety violations to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Participate in the development of safety and health programs.
- Provide technical assistance to mining operations in order to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
- Provide training to mine personnel on safety and health issues.
- Prepare reports and other documents related to safety and health compliance.
- Keep abreast of developments in mine safety and health regulations and compliance procedures.
Bachelor's Degree In Safety Engineering
Occupational Safety And Health
Industrial Hygiene
Or A Related Field
Advanced Knowledge Of Mine Safety And Health Principles And Practices
Demonstrated Ability To Conduct Inspections And Investigations
Knowledge Of Applicable Federal And State Laws And Regulations
