Job Description

The U.S. Department of Justice is looking for an experienced and motivated Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical expertise, consulting, and support in the areas of telecommunication systems and operations. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, operation, maintenance, and administration of major telecommunications systems.The ideal candidate for this position will have exceptional problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for working collaboratively with others. You should be comfortable working with a wide range of technologies, including PBX systems, VoIP, and mobile solutions. A positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work under pressure are also essential.To be successful in this role, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in telecommunications systems management. Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching is highly desirable. Previous experience in a government agency or other large organization is preferred. Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, operate, and maintain major telecommunication systems.
  2. Provide technical expertise and consulting in the areas of telecommunication systems and operations.
  3. Plan, install, configure, and test telecommunications systems.
  4. Monitor the performance of telecommunications systems, identify issues, and troubleshoot system problems.
  5. Maintain a detailed inventory of all telecommunications equipment.
  6. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and industry standards.
  7. Provide technical support and advice to users, customers, and other stakeholders.
  8. Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
  9. Participate in the design, development, and implementation of new telecommunications systems.
  10. Monitor telecom industry trends and technologies, and recommend changes to enhance system performance.
