Job Description

The U.S. Department of Justice is seeking an experienced Financial Program Specialist to join our team and provide high-level analysis and support of financial systems. This position requires a combination of expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and operations, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Accounting or Finance, and have at least three years of experience in financial operations or financial program management. The Financial Program Specialist will be responsible for managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of financial systems, as well as providing strategic financial advice and guidance to Departmental leadership. This position is a great opportunity for an experienced professional to make a big impact on the Department’s financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze financial systems and provide high-level support and guidance.
  2. Develop and maintain budgeting and financial operations.
  3. Provide strategic financial advice and guidance to Departmental leadership.
  4. Ensure accuracy and effectiveness of financial systems.
  5. Monitor and report on financial performance.
  6. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  7. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  8. Analyze financial trends and suggest cost saving measures.
  9. Prepare and analyze financial reports.
  10. Manage and monitor financial operations.
