Job Description

The U.S. Department of Justice seeks a highly-skilled, motivated, and experienced Employment Law Attorney to join our team. In this critical position, you will use your knowledge of labor and employment law to provide legal counsel to the Department and its agencies. The ideal candidate must have excellent research and writing skills, knowledge of labor and employment laws, and a strong commitment to justice. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal counsel to the U.S. Department of Justice and its agencies regarding labor and employment law.
  2. Research and interpret labor and employment laws in order to provide sound legal advice.
  3. Draft legal documents such as memorandums, briefs, and contracts in accordance with labor and employment regulations.
  4. Monitor legislative and judicial developments in labor and employment law and advise the Department of Justice on relevant changes.
  5. Represent the Department of Justice in labor and employment disputes and hearings.
  6. Advise Department personnel on issues related to labor and employment law.
  7. Develop and implement strategies and policies to ensure compliance with labor and employment laws.
  8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in labor and employment law.
  9. Collaborate with other attorneys to ensure the effective execution of legal strategies.
  10. Participate in professional development activities to stay abreast of changes in labor and employment law.
