
Travel Management Specialist
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Travel Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence and a passion for travel management. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, and creativity. We are looking for a professional who is a quick learner and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing HHS' travel program, including policy development, cost savings initiatives, and ensuring compliance with federal travel regulations.Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in travel management or equivalent experience; experience in travel industry, public sector, or related field; and advanced knowledge of federal travel regulations. The candidate must also possess excellent communication and customer service skills. The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain HHS' travel policy.
- Monitor and analyze travel program performance, look for opportunities for cost savings, and recommend changes to travel policy to improve efficiency.
- Provide guidance and assistance to HHS employees on travel-related matters.
- Negotiate with travel vendors for best rates and services.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal travel regulations.
- Prepare reports and maintain records of HHS travel spending.
- Create and implement strategies and procedures to streamline the travel booking process.
- Manage and troubleshoot travel-related issues.
- Maintain relationships with travel vendors.
- Provide customer service to HHS employees.
