Job Description

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Social Science Research Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of research methods and statistical analysis, as well as strong communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and external partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to make a real impact on the lives of many. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting research and providing insights on a variety of topics related to health and human services.We are looking for a candidate who has a Bachelor’s degree in a social science field, such as sociology, psychology, economics, public health, or political science, and at least two years of experience in social science research. Knowledge of research design, data collection and analysis, and report writing is essential. Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods is a plus. The successful candidate must also have strong problem-solving skills and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research and provide insights on a variety of topics related to health and human services.
  2. Design and implement research plans and experiments.
  3. Collect and analyze data using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  4. Communicate research findings and insights in a clear and concise manner.
  5. Work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
  6. Manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  7. Utilize problem-solving skills in order to overcome challenges.
  8. Create reports and presentations to communicate research results.
