- Organize and maintain medical records in accordance with healthcare regulations and organization protocols.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all medical records, including patient demographics, medical history, and treatment information.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data protection protocols for all medical records.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or incomplete medical information.
- Review medical records for accuracy and completeness, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Keep up-to-date with changes and updates in healthcare regulations and data protection laws.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems for efficient and secure access to medical records.
- Train and educate staff on proper medical record keeping procedures and data protection protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
- Ensure that medical records are easily accessible for healthcare providers and patients when needed.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy while handling sensitive medical information.
- Utilize electronic health record systems and other software to accurately input and retrieve medical data.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues related to medical record keeping systems.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures for organizing and maintaining medical records.
A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field.
Current Certification As A Registered Health Information Technician (Rhit) Through The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Medical Records Management.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Healthcare Information Management, Including Hipaa And Hitech.
Proficiency In Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Other Computer Software Used For Medical Records Management.
