Job Description

Are you a passionate problem solver and creative thinker who is excited to join the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services team as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist? We are looking for a motivated professional with a keen eye for detail who is ready to protect our information systems from cyber threats.In this role, you will serve as a key member of the IT team, ensuring the security of our information systems and networks. You will need to be familiar with a variety of cyber security tools and techniques, as well as the latest industry developments. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be able to think critically and possess a strong sense of responsibility.Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, as well as a minimum of three years of experience in IT security or a related field. Experience with network security, intrusion detection, and security auditing is also a must. Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze the security of information systems and networks and identify and mitigate potential cyber threats
  2. Utilize a variety of cyber security tools and techniques to protect systems
  3. Stay up to date on the latest industry developments and communicate changes to the IT team
  4. Develop and implement security policies and procedures
  5. Monitor and review network security logs and audit results
  6. Design and implement security systems and network architectures
  7. Perform security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests
  8. Respond to cyber incidents and security breaches
  9. Perform regular security audits and reviews
  10. Train and educate staff on cyber security best practices
