Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer-Editor to join the U.S. Department of Commerce. The ideal candidate should have excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to think critically and quickly adapt to changing priorities. This is a great opportunity to join a small, creative, and dynamic team.The Technical Writer-Editor will review, edit, and create written technical materials and documents for the Department. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with superior written communication skills, knowledge of government regulations, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to this organization and its mission. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience • At least 3 years of experience in technical writing and editing • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Excellent written communication skills • Ability to work under tight deadlines • Knowledge of government regulations and procedures • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities:

  1. Review, edit, and create technical materials and documents for the Department.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government regulations and procedures.
  3. Proofread and update existing documents for accuracy and clarity.
  4. Work closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure documents are of the highest quality.
  5. Ensure written materials meet departmental standards and deadlines.
  6. Collaborate with other writers to develop consistent and effective technical messaging.
  7. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create documents.
  8. Monitor and analyze trends and metrics to improve written materials.
  9. Research new topics and technologies as needed.
