Job Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce is seeking a Survey Statistician to provide statistical expertise and support in survey design, implementation, and analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly-skilled professional to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team in a unique and exciting role. The successful candidate will demonstrate an analytical and methodical approach to work, along with strong communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills. To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field, and have a minimum of two years of professional experience in survey design, implementation, and analysis. Advanced degrees in a related field and certifications in survey research are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design surveys to meet the needs of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
  2. Implement surveys in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  3. Analyze survey data to identify trends and patterns.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to review and interpret survey results.
  5. Prepare reports and presentations based on survey results.
  6. Make recommendations to improve survey design and implementation.
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in survey research.
  8. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Monitor and evaluate survey performance.
  10. Support the development and maintenance of survey databases.
