- Manage and maintain all records and information for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
- Develop and implement effective records management policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to records and information management.
- Organize and classify records to ensure easy retrieval and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including electronic, physical, and digital formats.
- Monitor and track record retention schedules and ensure timely disposal of expired records.
- Train and educate staff on proper records management practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency in records management processes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure the integrity and security of records.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues with records management systems or processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in records and information management.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of sensitive records.
- Provide support and guidance to staff regarding records and information management.
- Collaborate with IT department to ensure proper backup and storage of electronic records.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and respond to requests for information in a timely manner.
Bachelor's Degree In Records Management, Information Science, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Records And Information Management, Preferably In A Government Or Regulatory Agency.
Knowledge Of Federal Records Management Regulations And Guidelines, Such As The Federal Records Act And Nara Standards.
Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail To Effectively Manage Large Volumes Of Records And Information.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work Collaboratively With Various Stakeholders And Departments Within The U.s. Department Of Commerce.
