
Meteorologist
Are you ready to join the U.S. Department of Commerce as a Meteorologist? We’re looking for a dedicated, analytical and detail-oriented professional to join our team and help us make meaningful improvements to the lives of our citizens.In this role, you will be responsible for conducting, analyzing and interpreting meteorological data to provide operational forecast and warning services for the National Weather Service (NWS). You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining meteorological products and services, maintaining records of forecast and warning services, and providing technical support and assistance to meteorologists and other stakeholders.To be successful in this role, you must have a Master’s degree in Meteorology or a related field, with at least three years of experience in operational forecasting, analysis and warning services. You should also have extensive knowledge of meteorological research, meteorological instruments, and experience in interpreting and analyzing meteorological data. In addition, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.If you’re passionate about making a difference and have the qualifications and experience we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct, analyze and interpret meteorological data to provide operational forecast and warning services for the National Weather Service (NWS).

Bachelor's Degree In Meteorology Or Atmospheric Science
At Least Years Of Professional Experience In Meteorology Or Atmospheric Science
Demonstrated Expertise In Computer Programming And Numerical Modeling Of Atmospheric Phenomena
Knowledge Of Forecast And Analysis Techniques
