Job Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce is looking for a highly motivated and organized Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This position requires a professional with exceptional communication skills and a strong understanding of the human resources field. We are looking for an individual who is passionate and dedicated to providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, as well as a minimum of three years of experience in the human resources field. This individual should also possess advanced knowledge of human resources practices and procedures, including recruitment, compensation and benefits administration, and employee relations. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities:

  1. Recruit and select qualified employees in accordance with applicable federal laws and regulations.
  2. Develop and maintain employee records and personnel files in accordance with applicable federal laws and regulations.
  3. Analyze and review employee data to ensure compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations.
  4. Develop and implement effective compensation and benefits programs.
  5. Monitor and evaluate employee performance.
  6. Develop and implement effective employee relations policies and procedures.
  7. Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees regarding human resources policies and procedures.
  8. Investigate and resolve employee complaints.
  9. Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding.
  10. Create and maintain human resources documents, such as job descriptions and performance evaluation forms.
  11. Participate in the development and implementation of organizational training and development programs.
  12. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in order to recommend and implement strategies for improvement.
  13. Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
