As a Fishery Program Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and implementing programs, policies, and initiatives that support sustainable fisheries and vibrant fishing communities.   1. Develop and implement programs, policies, and initiatives that promote sustainable fisheries and support vibrant fishing communities.
  2. Conduct research and analysis on current fishery trends, regulations, and industry practices to inform program development and decision-making.
  3. Collaborate with various stakeholders including government agencies, fishing industry representatives, and conservation organizations to identify and address key issues affecting fisheries.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fishery programs and policies, and make recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.
  5. Provide technical assistance and guidance to stakeholders regarding fishery regulations, laws, and best practices.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert on fishery management and conservation issues, and represent the agency at conferences, meetings, and other events.
  7. Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate program objectives, progress, and outcomes to management, stakeholders, and the public.
  8. Manage budgets and resources allocated to fishery programs, ensuring efficient and effective use of funds.
  9. Stay current on developments in the field of marine conservation and fisheries management, and incorporate new knowledge and practices into program design and implementation.
  10. Act as a liaison between the agency and other government agencies, stakeholders, and the public, fostering positive relationships and promoting the agency's mission and goals.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Fishery Management Or Research.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Fisheries.
