Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Facility Operations Specialist to join our team at the U.S. Department of Commerce. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional who is looking to make an impact in a dynamic government agency setting. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of three years of experience in facilities operations and maintenance, have a working knowledge of building systems, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An associates degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and monitor the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facility.
  2. Ensure the facility meets all safety, health, and regulatory standards.
  3. Manage all vendor relationships and contracts related to the facility.
  4. Conduct regular maintenance and repairs of the facility systems.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all facility operations and activities.
  6. Monitor the facility budget and ensure cost efficiencies.
  7. Coordinate with outside contractors for additional services or repairs.
  8. Develop and implement procedures and policies to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the facility.
  9. Respond to emergency requests and coordinate with emergency personnel as needed.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to all visitors and staff.
