
Equal Employment Specialist
The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Equal Employment Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing guidance, oversight and education to ensure that the DOC is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations related to equal employment practices. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to promoting an inclusive and equitable workplace. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, as well as a minimum of four years of experience in the field of Equal Employment Opportunity. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with all applicable equal employment laws and regulations.
- Educate DOC personnel on equal employment practices and policies.
- Monitor and review policies and procedures related to equal employment opportunities.
- Identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans.
- Assist in the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve complaints of non-compliance with equal employment laws.
- Collaborate with other departments and personnel to promote a culture of inclusion and equity within the DOC.
- Maintain up-to-date records and report on progress made in promoting equal employment opportunities.
- Advise managers and supervisors on how to best address and resolve equal employment issues.
- Develop and present training programs on equal employment topics.
