  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to advance national standards and promote economic growth.
  2. Oversee the coordination and development of standards across multiple industries to ensure consistency and alignment with national priorities.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders from various industries, including government agencies, private sector organizations, and international partners, to identify and address standards-related challenges.
  4. Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends and technologies that may impact standardization efforts.
  5. Provide expert guidance and recommendations on standards development processes, including the adoption and implementation of new standards.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to gather feedback and input on standards development and implementation.
  7. Lead and manage a team of standards professionals to ensure timely and effective delivery of projects and initiatives.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing standards and make recommendations for improvements.
  9. Represent the U.S. Department of Commerce at national and international meetings and conferences related to standards coordination and development.
  10. Keep abreast of industry developments and changes in standards policies and regulations, and provide updates and recommendations to senior management.
  11. Develop and manage budgets and resources for the Standards Coordination Office.
  12. Support the Department's efforts to advance U.S. competitiveness in the global marketplace through standardization.
  13. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Standards Coordination Office.
  14. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to standards coordination and development.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Economics, Business, Or Public Policy.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Or Management Role, Preferably In A Government Agency Or Related Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Government Standards And Regulations, Particularly In The Fields Of Trade And Commerce.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Stakeholders At All Levels.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Develop And Implement Strategic Plans, Manage Budgets, And Lead Teams To Achieve Organizational Goals.
