Job Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce is looking for an experienced Acquisition Management Specialist who has the skills and knowledge to provide operational and technical expertise in acquisition management operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the successful management and execution of the acquisition process, from the planning phase through contract closeout. To be successful in this position, you must possess a combination of knowledge and experience in acquisition and procurement, financial management, and federal government contracting. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage the acquisition and procurement process from planning through contract closeout.
  2. Monitor and analyze the performance of acquisition operations and ensure compliance with federal government regulations and policies.
  3. Analyze market conditions and recommend the most cost-effective options for procurement.
  4. Review and evaluate solicitations, contracts, and other related documents for accuracy and completeness.
  5. Negotiate and collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure the best possible terms and conditions.
  6. Prepare and present reports on acquisition operations and budgets.
  7. Develop and implement strategies for the effective management of acquisition and procurement processes.
  8. Monitor and audit contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  9. Provide guidance and advice to department personnel on acquisition operations.
  10. Stay informed of new technologies, processes, and regulations related to acquisition and procurement.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Finance

  • Five Or More Years Of Relevant Experience In Acquisition Management

  • Knowledge Of The Federal Acquisition Regulation (Far) And Related Acquisition Policies And Procedures

  • Ability To Analyze Complex Acquisition Requirements And Develop Appropriate Strategies For Their Implementation

  • Ability To Effectively Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously And Meet Deadlines

  • Proficiency With Microsoft Office
