Job Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Supervisory Land Surveyor to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to use your expertise to oversee the day-to-day operations of our land survey operations while providing leadership and direction for survey staff. The ideal candidate must have an advanced degree in land surveying, a minimum of five years of professional land surveying experience, and a valid Professional Land Surveyor license in the state in which they will be working. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is able to work well independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the land survey team.
  2. Provide leadership and direction for survey staff.
  3. Ensure that all survey operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Ensure that survey staff are well trained and knowledgeable in the use of surveying equipment and technology.
  5. Maintain up-to-date records of survey data and reports.
  6. Ensure accuracy of survey measurements and calculations.
  7. Monitor survey staff performance and provide feedback as needed.
  8. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the survey team.
  9. Liaise with other departments and external stakeholders as needed.
  10. Maintain a professional license in the state in which the survey operations are conducted.
