
Research Mathematical Statistician
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Mathematical Statistician to join its team. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the department, working to provide analysis and statistical support to our research projects. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced mathematical statistician with a passion for solving complex issues and willingness to take on new challenges. Qualifications: • PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field • 5+ years of professional experience in research mathematics or statistical analysis• Experience in agricultural research or a related field• Advanced knowledge of statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS, STATA) and programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.)• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute research projects using mathematics and statistical analysis.
- Interpret and analyze statistical data using various software packages, including R, SAS, SPSS, STATA, Python, and SQL.
- Develop and maintain research databases and data models for statistical analysis.
- Prepare and present research findings to senior staff.
- Participate in the development of new research projects and initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to identify and resolve issues.
- Keep abreast of current trends and developments in the field.
- Provide technical assistance to other departments.
- Prepare reports and documents related to research projects.
- Monitor quality assurance standards and procedures.
