Job Description

Are you looking to become part of a team dedicated to preserving the environment and providing recreational opportunities for the public? The U.S. Department of Agriculture is looking for a Recreation Assistant to help facilitate outdoor recreation activities in the area. This is an exciting opportunity to help promote conservation, recreation, and resource protection to the community.The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to create and implement outdoor recreation activities. They should also be an excellent communicator and have a passion for the outdoors and environmental protection. A successful Recreation Assistant should possess the following qualifications: strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work with a diverse population, and the ability to work independently. Experience with recreational activities and public speaking is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in creating and implementing outdoor recreation activities
  2. Promote conservation, recreation, and resource protection to the community
  3. Communicate effectively with a diverse population
  4. Work independently to manage and complete tasks
  5. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  6. Possess experience with recreational activities and public speaking
  7. Ensure the safety of all involved in outdoor recreation activities
  8. Monitor and maintain recreation equipment and supplies
  9. Prepare and submit necessary documentation and reports
  10. Follow all policies and procedures related to the position
