
Archeologist
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Archeologist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to explore and analyze archeological remnants from various eras, while helping to preserve our nation’s history. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about archeology and eager to learn more about ancient cultures. The ideal candidate must have a Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archeology, or a related field and at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of archeology. You should possess knowledge of archeological methods, principles, and theories and a strong understanding of federal and state laws regarding the preservation of archeological sites. Additionally, you must be able to interpret and present data in the form of maps, sketches, and diagrams. Responsibilities:
- Explore and analyze archeological remnants from various eras.
- Preserve our nation’s history.
- Research and interpret archeological methods, principles, and theories.
- Comply with federal and state laws regarding the preservation of archeological sites.
- Prepare maps, sketches, and diagrams to present data.
- Promote the preservation of cultural heritage.
- Participate in archeological field work and excavations.
- Prepare reports and presentations on archeological findings.
- Utilize GIS systems to map and analyze sites.
- Consult with other professionals in the field to discuss research findings.
