  1. Conduct thorough and accurate validation of complex financial models to ensure their accuracy and effectiveness in supporting business decisions.
  2. Develop and implement validation plans and procedures to assess the performance and reliability of financial models.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address any weaknesses or deficiencies in existing models.
  4. Analyze and interpret data to provide valuable insights and recommendations for improving model performance and reducing risk.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for model validation and incorporate them into the validation process.
  6. Communicate validation results and recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior management, in a clear and concise manner.
  7. Lead and mentor junior model validators to ensure consistency and quality in the validation process.
  8. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline and enhance the model validation process.
  9. Collaborate with model developers and business units to understand and document model assumptions and limitations.
  10. Work with internal and external auditors to address any concerns or findings related to model validation.
  11. Adhere to regulatory requirements and guidelines related to model validation, such as SR 11-7 and IFRS 9.
  12. Contribute to the development and maintenance of model risk management policies and procedures.
  13. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the model validation process.
  14. Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to other teams within the organization on model validation-related matters.
  15. Continuously monitor and assess the performance and effectiveness of financial models to ensure they meet organizational goals and objectives.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: The Senior Model Validator Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements, Including But Not Limited To Occ 2011-12, Sr 11-7, And Sr 15-18. They Should Also Possess Knowledge Of Industry Best Practices In Model Validation.

  • Advanced Statistical And Quantitative Analysis Skills: The Role Requires Advanced Skills In Statistical And Quantitative Analysis, Including Experience With Various Statistical And Econometric Models. The Senior Model Validator Should Be Able To Evaluate The Accuracy And Reliability Of Models And Identify Areas For Improvement.

  • Strong Communication And Presentation Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, As Well As Experience Presenting Complex Technical Information To Non-Technical Stakeholders. The Ability To Clearly Articulate Findings And Recommendations Is Essential.

  • Proven Experience In Model Validation: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Model Validation, Preferably In The Financial Services Industry. They Should Possess A Solid Understanding Of Model Development, Validation, And Implementation Processes.

  • Advanced Degree In A Quantitative Field: A Master's Or Ph.d. In A Quantitative Field Such As Statistics, Mathematics, Or Finance Is Preferred For This Role. The Candidate Should Also Have A Strong Academic Background In Quantitative Analysis And Modeling Techniques.
