
Transportation Manager
At Tyson Foods, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Transportation Manager to join our team and help us streamline our transportation operations. As the Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the movement of our products from our facilities to distribution centers and customers across the country. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of our products. - Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation operations and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze transportation costs and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with transportation providers to ensure competitive rates.
- Oversee the scheduling and routing of deliveries to meet customer demand and minimize lead times.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of transportation coordinators and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and sales, to coordinate transportation needs.
- Monitor and track shipment progress to identify and resolve any issues or delays.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key transportation partners and vendors.
- Continuously evaluate and improve transportation processes and procedures.
- Prepare and present transportation reports and metrics to senior management.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and efficiency of transportation operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments to make proactive adjustments to transportation strategies.
- Train and educate team members on transportation policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to meet customer expectations.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Transportation Management, Preferably In The Food Industry.
Strong Knowledge Of Dot Regulations And Requirements.
Proficiency In Transportation Management Software And Experience With Route Optimization.
