Job Description

  1. Develop and implement food safety and quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  2. Conduct regular audits and inspections of production facilities, processes, and products to identify any potential food safety or quality issues.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions and improvements to prevent food safety and quality issues.
  4. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to food safety and quality assurance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  5. Train and educate employees on food safety and quality standards, proper handling and storage of food products, and sanitation practices.
  6. Monitor and analyze data related to food safety and quality metrics, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.
  7. Lead and manage a team of food safety and quality professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
  8. Communicate with suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to address any food safety and quality concerns or inquiries.
  9. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems, including HACCP and GMPs.
  10. Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential food safety and quality risks.
  11. Collaborate with product development and research teams to ensure new products meet food safety and quality standards.
  12. Participate in industry conferences and events to stay informed on the latest developments in food safety and quality.
  13. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to food safety and quality.
  14. Manage and maintain all documentation and records related to food safety and quality assurance.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures to enhance food safety and quality standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Food Science, Microbiology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Food Safety And Quality Assurance, Preferably In The Meat Industry.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Fda And Usda Regulations And Guidelines.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Manage A Team And Work Cross-Functionally With Other Departments.

  • Experience With Food Safety Audits And Certifications, Such As Haccp, Sqf, Or Brc.
