Job Description

Tyson Foods is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Breeder Technician Advisor to join our team in East Texas. As a Breeder Technician Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the health and proper breeding of our poultry, as well as providing guidance and support to our team of breeders. This is a first shift position, offering the opportunity to work with a reputable company and make a positive impact on the industry.   1. Manage and maintain the health and welfare of poultry on a daily basis.
  2. Oversee the breeding process and ensure proper genetic selection and documentation.
  3. Provide guidance and support to a team of breeders, including training and development.
  4. Monitor and assess the performance of breeding flocks and make recommendations for improvements.
  5. Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases.
  6. Collaborate with veterinarians and other animal health professionals to ensure the best possible care for the poultry.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports on breeding activities and performance.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in breeding and genetics.
  9. Participate in meetings and discussions with other team members to share knowledge and ideas.
  10. Comply with all company policies and procedures related to animal welfare and safety.
  11. Communicate effectively with management and other team members to discuss challenges and solutions.
  12. Continuously strive to improve breeding techniques and processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  13. Adhere to all regulatory and legal requirements related to breeding and animal care.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the health and safety of the poultry.
  15. Represent Tyson Foods in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Animal Breeding: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have Prior Experience In Animal Breeding, Preferably In A Poultry Or Livestock Setting. This Will Ensure They Have A Strong Understanding Of The Breeding Process And Can Provide Valuable Insights And Advice To Breeders.

  • Knowledge Of Breeding Techniques And Genetics: A Breeder Technician Advisor Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Breeding Techniques And Genetics To Effectively Advise Breeders On How To Improve The Quality And Productivity Of Their Flocks. This Knowledge Can Be Gained Through A Degree In Animal Science Or Related Field, Or Through Relevant Work Experience.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Breeder Technician Advisor, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Breeders, Colleagues, And Management Is Essential. This Includes Written And Verbal Communication, As Well As The Ability To Provide Clear And Concise Instructions And Feedback.

  • Attention To Detail: Breeding Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure The Health And Productivity Of The Flock. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Spot Potential Issues Or Areas For Improvement In The Breeding Process.

  • Ability To Work Independently: This Role May Require The Candidate To Work Independently And Make Decisions On Their Own. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Work Autonomously While Still Adhering To Company Policies And Procedures.
