Data Scientist

Trimble is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Data Scientist to join our team. This position is based in our headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA and will report to the VP of Data Science. The ideal candidate should have a passion for solving complex challenges and an aptitude for working with data. As a Data Scientist, you will be part of a team that uses data to drive decisions, improve processes, and develop solutions. The successful candidate should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent- 3+ years of experience working with large datasets- Expertise in SQL and data manipulation- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques - Experience with analytics tools such as R, Python, and/or SAS- Ability to clearly communicate data insights and recommendations- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

1. Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
2. Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
3. Identify trends and patterns in complex datasets.
4. Build machine learning models to support business decisions.
5. Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance.
6. Work with teams across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision making.
8. Communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to different audiences.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data science techniques and trends.
10. Manage and maintain databases and data systems.
