  1. Accurately and timely collect blood specimens from patients using proper venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  3. Label and process specimens following established procedures to ensure accurate identification and tracking.
  4. Prepare and organize necessary supplies and equipment for specimen collection.
  5. Verify patient information and ensure all necessary forms and documentation are completed accurately.
  6. Provide exceptional patient care by following established protocols for specimen collection and handling.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate any fears or concerns related to the specimen collection process.
  8. Ensure proper storage and transportation of collected specimens to maintain specimen integrity.
  9. Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during specimen collection.
  10. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  11. Collaborate with other members of the laboratory team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of specimens.
  12. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain and improve phlebotomy skills and knowledge.
  13. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all collected specimens.
  14. Report any abnormalities or issues with specimens to the appropriate medical personnel.
  15. Follow all laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  16. Assist with other laboratory duties as needed, including but not limited to specimen processing and data entry.
  17. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with patients, coworkers, and medical staff.
  18. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to protect self, patients, and coworkers.
  19. Continuously strive for excellence and contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the laboratory.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist At Tricore Reference Laboratories Must Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Has The Necessary Skills To Perform The Job Effectively.

  • Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Setting. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With Laboratory Procedures, Safety Protocols, And Has Experience Working With Patients.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Venipuncture Techniques, Specimen Collection, And Handling, As Well As Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Infection Control Measures.

  • Attention To Detail: A Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accurate Specimen Collection And Labeling. This Is Crucial To Prevent Errors And Ensure The Integrity Of The Samples.

  • Communication Skills: The Candidate Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Patients And Healthcare Professionals, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Document Information And Follow Instructions From Laboratory Supervisors.
