  1. Collect and process blood samples from patients in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols while performing phlebotomy procedures.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of sample processing.
  4. Verify patient information and confirm the correct order of tests to be performed.
  5. Label, store, and transport specimens according to laboratory procedures.
  6. Collaborate with other laboratory staff to troubleshoot and resolve any issues with samples or testing processes.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all phlebotomy procedures and patient information.
  8. Provide excellent patient care and customer service, addressing any concerns or questions with empathy and professionalism.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices related to phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
  10. Participate in training and continuing education opportunities to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  11. Comply with all applicable regulations and standards, including HIPAA and CLIA, to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of patient information and laboratory operations.
  12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by laboratory management.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Phlebotomy: A Qualified Candidate For This Position Should Have A Current Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Program Or Organization. This Ensures That The Individual Has Been Trained In The Proper Techniques And Procedures For Drawing Blood And Handling Specimens.

  • Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory, Preferably In A Phlebotomy Or Laboratory Assistant Role, Is Essential For This Position. This Experience Demonstrates Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Safety Protocols, And Handling Of Laboratory Equipment.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Necessary For A Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Medical Tests, Common Laboratory Abbreviations, And Basic Anatomy And Physiology.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist, Effective Communication Is Essential. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Professionally With Patients, Colleagues, And Healthcare Providers. Excellent Communication Skills Are Necessary For Accurate Specimen Collection And Handling, As Well As Providing Patient Education And Instructions.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In A Clinical Laboratory. A Qualified Candidate For This Position Should Have Strong Attention To Detail In Order To Accurately Collect And Handle Specimens, As Well As Maintain Proper Documentation And Follow Protocols For Quality Control And Assurance. This Attention To Detail Helps Ensure Accurate And Reliable Test Results For Patients.
