  1. Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages, following established protocols and safety measures.
  2. Collect and process specimens for testing, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
  3. Utilize computer systems to accurately enter patient information and test orders.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  5. Prepare and package specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
  6. Adhere to all infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering necessary supplies.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and medical staff to ensure a positive patient experience.
  9. Follow laboratory policies and procedures, including quality control and quality assurance measures.
  10. Troubleshoot any technical issues and report any problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  11. Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on best practices and advancements in the field.
  12. Uphold TriCore’s values and mission to provide accurate and timely laboratory results to improve patient care.
  13. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Valid Certification As A Phlebotomist By A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa), Is Essential For This Position.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting Is Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures, Including Handling And Processing Of Specimens, Maintaining Quality Control, And Following Safety Protocols.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Accurately Collect, Label, And Document Specimens Is Crucial In This Role. Candidates Should Have A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure Accuracy And Prevent Errors.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For This Position As It Involves Interacting With Patients, Laboratory Staff, And Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Candidates Should Be Able To Handle Potentially Stressful Situations With Empathy And Professionalism.
