
Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist

- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages, following established protocols and safety measures.
- Collect and process specimens for testing, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
- Utilize computer systems to accurately enter patient information and test orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Prepare and package specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering necessary supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and medical staff to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Follow laboratory policies and procedures, including quality control and quality assurance measures.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues and report any problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on best practices and advancements in the field.
- Uphold TriCore’s values and mission to provide accurate and timely laboratory results to improve patient care.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management.
Certification: A Valid Certification As A Phlebotomist By A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa), Is Essential For This Position.
Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures, Including Handling And Processing Of Specimens, Maintaining Quality Control, And Following Safety Protocols.
Attention To Detail: The Ability To Accurately Collect, Label, And Document Specimens Is Crucial In This Role. Candidates Should Have A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure Accuracy And Prevent Errors.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For This Position As It Involves Interacting With Patients, Laboratory Staff, And Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Candidates Should Be Able To Handle Potentially Stressful Situations With Empathy And Professionalism.
