Looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Counsel to join our Coverage Litigation team at Travelers.   1. Provide expert legal counsel and advice to the firm's clients on coverage litigation matters.
  2. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and decisions.
  3. Draft and review court documents, pleadings, and motions related to coverage litigation cases.
  4. Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  5. Collaborate with other attorneys and team members to develop and implement effective case strategies.
  6. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case progress and address any concerns.
  7. Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments related to coverage litigation.
  8. Identify potential risks and provide proactive legal advice to mitigate them.
  9. Mentor and train junior attorneys on the team.
  10. Maintain accurate and thorough case records and documentation.
  11. Foster strong relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
  12. Uphold the firm's high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Coverage Litigation: A Senior Counsel At Travelers Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Coverage Litigation, Including Insurance Policies, Regulations, And Legal Precedent. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Handling Complex Coverage Disputes.

  • Strong Legal Background: Candidates Must Possess A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School And Be Admitted To Practice In The State Where The Position Is Located. They Should Also Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience Practicing Law, With A Focus On Coverage Litigation.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Senior Counsel, The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Legal Concepts To Both Internal And External Stakeholders Is Crucial. This Includes Strong Writing And Verbal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Negotiate And Persuade.

  • Leadership And Management Experience: The Senior Counsel Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Attorneys, Paralegals, And Legal Assistants. Therefore, Experience In Managing And Mentoring Others Is Essential. Additionally, Candidates Should Have A Proven Ability To Effectively Manage Large, Complex Cases.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Insurance Industry: Travelers Is A Leading Insurance Company, And A Senior Counsel Must Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of The Industry, Including Emerging Trends And Regulations. This Knowledge Will Be Critical In Providing Strategic Legal Advice And Guidance To The Company.
