- Provide legal counsel and representation for complex insurance coverage litigation matters.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support insurance coverage positions.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with the legal team.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Attend court proceedings and effectively advocate for the company's interests.
- Communicate with clients, external counsel, and other stakeholders to provide updates and seek feedback.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and case law related to insurance coverage litigation.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as claims and underwriting to provide legal support and guidance.
- Train and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff on coverage litigation matters.
- Manage outside counsel and their work on assigned cases.
- Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
- Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of the legal department and its processes.
Extensive Experience In Coverage Litigation: A Senior Counsel At Travelers Must Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Coverage Litigation, With A Strong Track Record Of Success In Handling Complex And High-Profile Cases.
Strong Knowledge Of Insurance Industry: In Addition To Legal Expertise, The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of The Insurance Industry And Its Regulations, As Well As Emerging Trends And Developments.
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: As A Key Representative Of Travelers, The Senior Counsel Must Possess Exceptional Written And Oral Communication Skills, And Be Able To Effectively Negotiate With Clients, Opposing Counsel, And Other Stakeholders.
Leadership And Strategic Thinking: The Role Of A Senior Counsel At Travelers Involves Providing Strategic Direction And Leadership Within The Coverage Litigation Team. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Ability To Think Critically, Make Sound Decisions, And Lead A Team To Success.
Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree And Active Bar Membership: A Senior Counsel At Travelers Must Have A Jd Degree From An Accredited Law School And Be An Active Member Of The State Bar, With A Strong Standing And No History Of Disciplinary Actions. Additional Certifications Or Specialized Training In Coverage Litigation Are Highly Desirable.
