Job Description

Travelers is seeking a highly skilled Risk Control Specialist to join our team and help us mitigate potential losses for our inland marine clients.   1. Conduct thorough risk assessments for inland marine clients to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
  2. Utilize your extensive knowledge of inland marine insurance to provide guidance and support to clients in understanding their coverage and potential risks.
  3. Develop and implement risk control plans and strategies to reduce or eliminate potential losses for clients.
  4. Collaborate with underwriters and claims professionals to evaluate and address potential risks in insurance policies.
  5. Stay updated on industry regulations and trends related to inland marine insurance and provide recommendations for adjustments to risk management strategies.
  6. Conduct on-site visits and inspections to assess risk exposures and make recommendations for improvements.
  7. Develop and deliver training programs and materials for clients on risk management best practices.
  8. Analyze data and reports to identify trends and patterns in risk exposures and provide recommendations for risk management solutions.
  9. Communicate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide updates on risk control initiatives and address any concerns or questions.
  10. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all risk control activities and documentation for clients.
  11. Act as a subject matter expert and resource for colleagues and clients on all matters related to inland marine insurance and risk management.
  12. Collaborate with other risk control specialists and team members to share knowledge and best practices.
  13. Attend industry conferences and events to stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in risk management.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve risk management processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  15. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all risk control activities and interactions with clients.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Inland Marine Insurance: A Risk Control Specialist At Travelers Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Inland Marine Insurance And Its Unique Risks And Coverages. This Includes Knowledge Of Various Types Of Inland Marine Policies, Such As Equipment Floaters, Builder's Risk, And Motor Truck Cargo.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Risk Control Specialists Are Responsible For Identifying And Assessing Potential Risks For Travelers' Clients. This Requires The Ability To Analyze Complex Data And Situations, As Well As Develop Effective Risk Management Strategies.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential For A Risk Control Specialist, As They Must Be Able To Clearly Convey Risk Assessments And Recommendations To Clients And Internal Stakeholders. This Includes Both Written And Verbal Communication Skills.

  • Experience In Risk Assessment And Loss Control: Candidates For This Position Should Have Previous Experience In Risk Assessment And Loss Control, Preferably In The Inland Marine Insurance Industry. This Includes Conducting On-Site Inspections And Developing Loss Prevention Strategies.

  • Relevant Certifications And Education: Travelers May Prefer Candidates With Certifications Such As Certified Risk Manager (Crm) Or Associate In Risk Management (Arm). A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Risk Management Or Insurance Is Also Desirable.
