- Conduct thorough investigations of fire incidents to determine cause and origin
- Collect and analyze evidence, including physical and testimonial evidence, to support findings
- Document all findings and observations in a detailed and organized manner
- Communicate investigation results to relevant parties, including claims adjusters, risk managers, and legal teams
- Collaborate with law enforcement and fire departments as necessary
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in fire investigation
- Identify potential fraud or suspicious activity during investigations and report findings to appropriate parties
- Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings, if required
- Assist in developing and implementing risk management strategies based on investigation findings
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess fire safety and inform risk assessments
- Maintain accurate records and files related to investigations and findings
- Adhere to all company policies and legal regulations related to fire investigation and safety.
Bachelor's Degree In Fire Science Or Related Field
Certified Fire Investigator (Cfi) Or Certified Fire And Explosion Investigator (Cfei) Designation
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Fire Investigation, Preferably In The Insurance Industry
Comprehensive Knowledge Of Fire Behavior, Cause And Origin Determination, And Evidence Collection Techniques
Strong Analytical And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Write Detailed Reports And Testify In Court As An Expert Witness.
