  1. Investigate and evaluate E&O and D&O liability claims to determine coverage and liability.
  2. Provide legal advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on complex claim issues.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to effectively manage and resolve claims in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  4. Communicate with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and other parties involved in the claims process to gather information and negotiate settlements.
  5. Review and analyze legal and insurance documents related to claims to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and teams within the company to identify potential risks and develop preventative measures.
  7. Keep up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends related to E&O and D&O liability claims.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed claim records and documentation.
  9. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
  10. Represent the company in legal proceedings, including mediation, arbitration, and trials, as needed.
  11. Train and mentor junior team members on claim handling best practices and procedures.
  12. Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve the overall claims process and customer experience.
  13. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and ethical guidelines.
  14. Handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  15. Collaborate with management to identify and implement strategies for continuous improvement and growth within the claims department.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Understanding Of E&O And D&O Insurance Policies: A Qualified Claim Counsel At Travelers Must Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Errors And Omissions (E&O) And Directors And Officers (D&O) Insurance Policies. This Includes Knowledge Of Coverage, Exclusions, And Claims Handling Procedures.

  • Experience In Claims Handling: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Handling E&O And D&O Claims. This Includes Evaluating Coverage, Investigating Claims, And Negotiating Settlements.

  • Legal Background: A Strong Background In Law, Preferably With A Focus On Insurance Or Commercial Litigation, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. Claim Counsels At Travelers Often Handle Complex Claims That May Involve Legal Issues, So A Legal Background Is Beneficial.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: As A Claim Counsel At Travelers, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Clients, Attorneys, And Other Stakeholders Is Crucial. This Includes Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Negotiate Settlements And Handle Difficult Conversations.

  • Detail-Oriented And Analytical Mindset: Working In The Insurance Industry Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail And The Ability To Analyze Complex Information. Claim Counsels At Travelers Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have Strong Analytical Skills To Effectively Evaluate Claims And Make Sound Decisions.
