- Develop and implement policies and procedures for information and cyber security in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor and assess potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities to the company's systems and assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology and risk management, to develop and implement security strategies.
- Provide legal guidance and support to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to information and cyber security.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party vendors to ensure appropriate security measures are in place.
- Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on developments in information and cyber security laws and regulations.
- Conduct training and education for employees on information and cyber security best practices and policies.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including data breaches, and provide legal advice on appropriate actions to take.
- Advise on the development and maintenance of incident response plans and protocols.
- Stay informed on emerging security technologies and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Participate in the development and review of company policies and procedures related to information and cyber security.
- Provide legal support for compliance audits and assessments.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings related to information and cyber security.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure a strong security culture and understanding of related legal requirements.
Extensive Knowledge Of Information And Cyber Security: A Senior Counsel At Transunion Should Possess In-Depth Knowledge And Understanding Of The Latest Trends, Techniques, And Best Practices In Information And Cyber Security. They Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Security Frameworks, Compliance Regulations, And Risk Management Strategies.
Strong Legal Background: As A Senior Counsel, Candidates Should Have A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree And Be Licensed To Practice Law. They Should Have Experience In Providing Legal Advice And Counsel In A Corporate Setting, Preferably In The Field Of Information And Cyber Security.
Experience In Data Privacy And Compliance: Transunion Deals With Large Amounts Of Sensitive Consumer Data, Making Data Privacy And Compliance A Top Priority. A Senior Counsel Should Have A Strong Background In Data Privacy Laws And Regulations, Such As Gdpr And Ccpa, And Experience In Developing And Implementing Compliance Programs.
Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Senior Counsel, This Role Will Involve Working Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including It, Security, And Compliance. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate And Lead Initiatives To Protect Transunion's Data And Systems.
Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Senior Counsel Will Be Responsible For Identifying Potential Legal Risks And Developing Strategies To Mitigate Them. They Should Have Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities To Anticipate And Address Potential Security Threats And Breaches. Experience In Crisis Management, Incident Response, And Cybersecurity Incident Planning Is Also Highly Desirable.
