Job Description

If so, TransUnion is seeking a Revenue Recognition Manager to join our team! As the Revenue Recognition Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue for our company. With your expertise and leadership, you will help guide our revenue recognition processes and policies to support our growing business.   1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of revenue recognition principles and standards, including ASC 606 and related guidance.
  2. Oversee and review the company's revenue recognition policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and legal, to ensure proper recognition of revenue in accordance with contracts and applicable accounting standards.
  4. Lead the monthly revenue close process, including reviewing and approving journal entries and reconciliations.
  5. Prepare and present revenue-related reports and analysis to senior management and external auditors.
  6. Stay up-to-date on changes in revenue recognition standards and regulations, and proactively identify and address potential impacts on the company's financial statements.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing guidance and support on revenue recognition matters.
  8. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue recognition process.
  9. Train and mentor team members on revenue recognition principles and processes.
  10. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of revenue in accordance with established deadlines.
  11. Assist with special projects and initiatives related to revenue recognition as needed.
  12. Maintain a strong control environment and ensure compliance with internal controls related to revenue recognition.
  13. Communicate and escalate any potential issues or concerns related to revenue recognition to senior management.
  14. Act as a subject matter expert on revenue recognition matters and provide guidance and support to other departments as needed.
  15. Continuously monitor and evaluate the company's revenue recognition processes and policies, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Revenue Recognition, Preferably In The Financial Services Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Asc 606 And Other Relevant Accounting Standards.

  • Experience With Revenue Recognition Software And Systems, Such As Sap Or Oracle.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With A Keen Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
