Engineer – Future Mobility – Battery Pack and Driveline Design

The primary responsibility of this role is to support original development and localization of Toyota’s Driveline components and Battery Pack related components for electrified vehicles (Hybrid Electric, Battery Electric, and Fuel Cell). The person in this role will support the Powertrain Design 1 department's objective to provide highly competitively designed, and locally produced driveline and battery packs to our customers. Development of driveline and battery pack parts that interface to the vehicle. Vehicle packaging and layout study of driveline and battery packs through close collaboration with other Toyota R&D groups in USA and Japan. Localization of driveline & battery pack components by working closely with local suppliers and design engineers in Japan. Participate in evaluation, and manufacturing activities locally and internationally (as necessary). Identify and implement innovative methods and technologies for Toyota’s future driveline and battery packs through competitor benchmarking.
