
Motion Graphics Editor/Animator
The Washington Post is seeking an experienced motion graphics editor and animator with a background in live newscast production. This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Applicants must be able to work all shifts, including early mornings, nights and weekends as determined by the live coverage schedule. Primary responsibilities include designing onscreen graphics using Viz Artist and Adobe After Effects and operating Viz Trio during live programs. Additional responsibilities include supporting the daily creation of pre-production graphics for video packages. The motion graphics editor-animator will be responsible for leading graphics production and playout for the Video department’s coverage of live news events in a broadcast control room environment.
At least three years of experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment
A proven record of producing compelling animated content for live programs.
Demonstrated experience designing and developing stories using mixed-media
Able to work all shifts, including early mornings, nights and weekends as determined by the live coverage schedule.
