Job Description

  1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and employee benefits laws.
  2. Advise senior management and HR teams on employment law matters, including best practices for compliance, risk management, and potential legal issues.
  3. Review and provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  4. Conduct thorough and timely investigations into employee complaints and other employment-related issues, and provide recommendations for appropriate resolutions.
  5. Develop and deliver training and educational programs on employment law topics to HR teams and other company stakeholders.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in employment laws, and proactively advise the company on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
  7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, and other business partners to develop and implement effective strategies and solutions for employment-related legal matters.
  8. Manage and oversee litigation related to employment law matters, including working with external counsel, preparing for trials, and representing the company in court when necessary.
  9. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for the company on employment law matters, providing guidance and support to various departments as needed.
  10. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with relevant government agencies and industry organizations to stay informed of emerging issues and potential changes in employment laws.
  11. Ensure that the company's employment practices align with its core values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  12. Monitor and report on key performance indicators and metrics related to employment law, and make recommendations for improvements and risk mitigation strategies as needed.
  13. Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, providing guidance and support for their development and growth within the company.
  14. Represent the company and its interests in employment-related negotiations, arbitrations, and mediations with employees, unions, and other stakeholders.
  15. Uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain strict confidentiality in all legal matters

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience Practicing Employment Law, Preferably In A Large Corporate Setting

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Federal And State Labor And Employment Laws, Including Eeo, Ada, Fmla, And Wage And Hour Regulations

  • Proven Track Record Of Providing Strategic Legal Advice And Counseling To Senior Executives And Hr Professionals

  • Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Manage A Team Of Attorneys And Legal Professionals Effectively
